COMMISSION WORK BY ROBIN

WHY COMMISSION ORIGINAL ART?

Commissioning a piece of original art allows you the opportunity to capture colors and themes that fit into the vibe and style of your space while still preserving the integrity of fine art. It’s a process that I enjoy as an artist because I can offer something that is as personal as my original work but also very unique to each client.  

I am very passionate about working to create what my clients are envisioning. But it is important to remember that art still comes out of my imagination and is not intended to copy other art, or directly reproduce a photograph or image.

START DREAMING

I want you to dream big and decide on a what kind of art speaks to you as well as what color elements that you would like featured or incorporated into the piece.  

STYLE

When selecting a theme or subject you can look at the gallery on my website and select several pieces that have the impression you are going for, or decide on something very specific and provide images or links to what inspires you.

COLOR

To help me develop the right color palette for your original artwork, feel free to gather paint or fabric swatches, a picture of a rug or other focal point in the room, or simply a photo or picture that contains colors that inspire you.  

SIZE

Where are you going to display the piece? Take a picture of the space that will house your original artwork and let me know the size you would like. I am also happy to suggest sizes that would work best in the area you have chosen, as well as if unframed or framed canvas or other mediums would represent the best for your selection.  

PRICING

Once you submit the general idea of what you are looking for, including the size and style, I will send you a pricing estimate for the work. Upon agreement, we will then schedule a personal consultation to get things started.  

CONSULTATION & PROCESS

After the initial consultation, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the commission will be collected. I will then get to work! But the fun doesn’t stop there.

Step 1: I will submit a rough sketch of the piece for initial approval alongside a customized color palette.  

Step 2: After approval, I will move on to the real thing and begin creating your original artwork. During the process, I will send you photos at any critical juncture that I feel needs your input or just to share as the work comes to life. As long as you allow me the right amount of creative freedom I am happy to take your suggestions or input during these steps.  

Step 3: Before the artwork is officially completed, you will have a chance to review and approve a photo of the final piece. Upon approval, final payment will be due and the work will be cured and made ready for shipment or delivery.
